These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of serialscout.com (“the site”). By accessing or using the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What Serial Scout is

Serial Scout is an independent search tool that aggregates publicly available listings from eBay’s Browse API to help users find serial-numbered sports cards. Serial Scout is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by eBay Inc., the card manufacturers, the leagues, or the players whose names may appear in listings. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

Affiliate disclosure

Serial Scout is a participant in the eBay Partner Network. We earn a commission when visitors click links on the site and complete qualifying purchases on eBay. This commission does not change the price you pay. We do not edit or filter listings based on commission rates; the search results reflect what eBay returns for the query.

Accuracy of listings — no warranty

Listing data on Serial Scout is provided “as is” with no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied. Listings reflect data returned by eBay’s API at the time of fetch and are processed by automated systems including optical character recognition (OCR) to extract serial numbers. As a result:

• Serial numbers extracted from card images may be incorrect
• Prices, availability, and listing details may be out of date
• Listings may have ended, sold, or been delisted between our last fetch and your visit
• The seller’s description and images on eBay are authoritative; Serial Scout’s extracted data is not

Always verify card condition, authenticity, and serial numbers directly on the eBay listing before purchase. We strongly recommend reading the seller’s description in full and reviewing eBay’s buyer protection policies before bidding or buying.

No financial or investment advice

Serial Scout is an informational tool. Nothing on the site, including our articles, price and premium analyses, valuations, alerts, or any figures we publish, is financial, investment, tax, or purchasing advice, and none of it should be relied on as the basis for any purchase or sale. Sports cards and other collectibles are not investments. Any statistics we present describe past sales; past results do not predict future prices, premiums and values are not guaranteed, and you can lose money. All buying and selling decisions are your own, and you are solely responsible for them. Do your own research and, where appropriate, consult a qualified professional before acting.

No purchase relationship

All purchases occur on eBay between you and the seller. Serial Scout does not sell cards, take payment, ship items, or facilitate transactions. eBay’s buyer protection program, return policies, and dispute resolution processes govern your purchase — not Serial Scout.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, mirror, or republish Serial Scout content at scale without permission
• Attempt to bypass security or rate limiting
• Use the site to violate any law or third-party right
• Interfere with the operation of the site for other users

Intellectual property

The Serial Scout name, logo, layout, and original content (excluding eBay listing data) are property of the site’s operator. eBay listing images, titles, and descriptions remain the property of the original sellers and/or eBay; they are displayed under the terms of the eBay Partner Network agreement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Serial Scout and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of the site or any listings displayed on it. This includes (but is not limited to) losses from purchasing items based on incorrect serial-number extraction, inaccurate prices, or unavailable listings. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the site is to stop using it.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Serial Scout and its operator from any claim, demand, loss, or damage, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising out of your use of the site or your violation of these Terms.

Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the site shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located there.
